About the Western Whalers

The Western Whalers Football club is a community focused club for those who have played all their life, or those that have always wanted to play but not sure if they have what it takes to get that pill through the big sticks at the end of the field.

The rules are slightly modified for our older bodies so we can all turn up to work the next day. Each match is 1 hour long, with 15 minute quarters, and we really embrace the AFLMWA motto, ‘Footy for kicks’.

Games are every second Sunday, with training every Thursday evening at Abbett Park in Scarborough.

In 2020, we will have 3 teams competing in the AFLMWA competition at age groups 35-40 (Supers), 40-45 (Masters) and Seniors (45+). We are one of the 16 teams around the Metro area, and arguably the team everyone wants to be playing with, not against.

Being a social club is our priority, so playing is only half the fun. Our Season is littered with many social events throughout. Any excuse to get the lads together or the families involved, we’ve got it covered.

So if you want to get fit and meet some great new people, dust off the boots and come down.
